Hi I'm Yvonne, the Access Officer and my role is to help the college raise awareness of what being a student here is actually like for potential applicants from a non-traditional Oxbridge background. I work closely with both students, the Cambridge University Student's Union, and the college's School Laison Officer and Admissions Office to ensure that we're making the most of the wonderful friendly nature of Emmanuel and the enthusiasm of our current students to ensure that everyone who could benefit from coming here feels comfortable applying! Practically this involves things like:
- Encouraging current students to participate in access initatives,
- Aiding school visits to the college,
- Organising the Access Bus Scheme,
- Liaising with CUSU on the Shadowing Scheme,
- and helping the Admissions Office with the Alternative Prospectus and other admissions publications.
