What are Open Meetings?
Open Meetings are an opportunity for all members of ECSU to make their views known. Not only can you ask questions to the Exec, and expect a formal response, but you can also bring forward motions, which can act to change some aspect of ECSU policy.
At the last Open Meeting (Monday 4th February 2008) we debated two motions: whether to have a Men's Officer in ECSU, and whether we should have an LBGT rep recognised by ECSU. Details to follow soon.
When are they held?
Open Meetings are held twice a term (once in Easter term), as dictated by the Constitution. They are advertised well in advance, and all members of ECSU are encouraged to attend.
Is there a formal procedure for Open Meetings?
The Open Meetings are governed by a set of Standing Orders, which are available for download in PDF format.
