Final Exeats Michaelmas Term 2007
Notice from the Senior Tutor
The period of time between the end of this term and Christmas is when the College arranges to interview all of the applicants for admission in 2008/09 and we have considerable pressure on accommodation for admission candidates. NPR ends on Wednesday 5th December and, of course, you are entitled to stay but I would be grateful if any of you who can manage to do so would be good enough to vacate your rooms and go down for Christmas over the weekend of 1st-2nd December.
The College prides itself on its friendliness and we very much rely on our current students to provide a friendly atmosphere during the admissions process. Students who wish to stay beyond NPR will be asked to offer help with admissions candidates but any of you staying up to NPR who feel that you would like to help please sign up. A sign-up sheet will be available in the Porters’ Lodge from Friday 16 November until Wednesday 28th November.
Thank you.
How To Obtain Your Final Exeat
- Members of the College who were in residence on Tuesday 2nd October and have taken no Exeat may go out of residence on Friday 30 November.
- The last night of Normal Period of Residence (NPR) is Tuesday 4th December (to leave on Wednesday 5th December).
- Please use the online Exeat form, located at www.emma.cam.ac.uk/exeat, which is now open for you to log your proposed date of departure at the end of the Michaelmas term. Please remember that you do still need to sign out and hand in your keys at the Porters’ Lodge on your day of departure.
- All students should enter their proposed date of departure online before Monday 26 November. Requests to stay in residence beyond NPR will be forwarded to the Senior Tutor.
- Because the College must report to the University that you have kept Term, it is essential that your departure date is recorded. The online system will remain open but a charge of £10 will be made to anyone who has not submitted their departure date by Monday 26 November. There will also be a charge of £10 for failure to hand in keys and £15 for the loss of each key.
Returning For The Lent Term 2008
- The Normal Period of Residence begins on Wednesday 9th January and Members may return on or after that date. Full Term starts on Tuesday 15th January and Members of the College keeping Term must be in residence on that date.
- Permission to return on any date earlier than 9th January must be obtained from the Senior Tutor and this can be done by using the online form, www.emma.cam.ac.uk/exeat. The College will be closed from 5.00pm on Saturday 22nd December 2007 until 8.00am on Wednesday 2nd January 2008, therefore Members hoping to return before 2nd January must request to do so by Friday 14 December. Please give reasons for wishing to return before the beginning of the Normal Period of Residence.
Please Note
- Any student requesting to stay after NPR does so in the understanding that they may be asked to move rooms.
- Those in New Court are reminded that they cannot stay in their rooms outside NPR.
- There will be no bedder service from Saturday 22nd December to Tuesday 1st January inclusive.
