Photograph Portfolio challenge
-2 hours, 10 photos, 1 winner
On WEDNESDAY 16TH MAY we will be hosting an adrenaline-pumping portfolio challenge for the photographers.
Turn up with a camera at 7:00pm at the Plodge. You will have two hours to compose a 10-shot portfolio. This is shooting AND editing. The subject matter is completely up to you, and you are only limited by the fastest form of transport that you can acquire. [ECAPS will not be held responsible for any criminal convictions or damages accumulated during the evening]
The prize will be a large photo collage created with YOUR photographs.
If you wish to enter the challenge, please email jl634@cam.ac.uk and request a Dropbox link. To keep time we strongly recommend you turn up at the plodge on time. Once you have submitted your portfolio, upload it to the Dropbox folder. Deadline is 9.00pm that evening.
We hope as many of you as possible can come. This could be fabulous!

International Development Course
-Explore the role of media in development at the Cambridge International Development Course on Saturday 5th May 9:30-5pm at the Law Faculty.
You will hear from a wide range of speakers who are all experts in the field through interactive workshops and informative lectures. This is also an exciting opportunity to find out more about careers in the development sector, meeting and speaking to those working in the field today.

Prof. Gareth Stedman Jones on Marx
-Professor Gareth Stedman Jones: Marx- Early and Late.
Location: Munby Room, King's College

Gareth Stedman Jones was appointed Professor of the History of Ideas in 2010, after thirteen years as the Professor of Political Science at the University of Cambridge. He is a renowned Marx scholar. As well as being the editor for the Penguin edition of the Communist Manifesto and joint-editor of the fifth volume of the Cambridge History of Political Thought, he is currently working on an intellectual biography of Marx commissioned by Penguin and expected to be published in 2012 and a more general work on political thought between the French Revolution and the Revolutions of 1848.
He will speak both about the early formation of Marx?s ideas and the last decade of his life, in which he began to explore ideas about the Village Community.

-It will be run on Wednesday 2nd May 5-8pm at Wilberforce Road Track. There
will be fewer events (listed below). There will be a more individual focus,
rather than a team trophy at the end. We encourage people to enter for the
opportunity to be selected for the Varsity squad and for the joy of
