Tamisha L. Tan

Ethics & Religious Equalities Officer

Heya, I’m Tamisha, a 2nd Year Linguist and your Ethnic and Religious Equalities Officer for this year!
My main goals for 2016/2017 are:

  • To work with the International Officer, Access Officer, and CUSU BME campaign to increase intersectional minority representation and outreach through workshops and events.
  • To organise social events and welfare get-togethers to foster a sense of community and support within Emma – look forward to food outings, tea/cake, theatre trips, and more!
  • To provide safe spaces for self-identifying ethnic and religious minority students to share about and discuss their lived experiences at Cambridge and promote solidarity within college.

I’m also working to re-structure this position to better integrate into the University-Wide BME network – watch out for our open meeting in Lent where we can discuss these proposals and more. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to talk about any micro-aggressions or improper interactions experienced within College, if you’d like to seek advice about lodging complaints or seeking recourse, or if you’d like to work together and collaborate on an initiative!
