REDS
The Revived Emmanuel Dramatic Society is the resident theatre company of Emmanuel College. In recent years we have played an increasingly prominent role in Cambridge drama and fund or host between six and twelve shows a year in venues across the city. From small-scale freshers' plays in Emmanuel's own Queen's Building to ADC and Corpus Playroom mainshows, REDS is dedicated to supporting a wide range of quality productions.
REDS aims to encourage students to take part in Drama in all areas from acting to backstage and producing and directing. By striking a balance between commercial success and an emphasis on creativity and originality, REDS continues to ensure that it is one of Cambridge's most consistently profitable and artistically rewarding drama societies.
The Freshers' Play
Each year in Michaelmas term, REDS puts on its own Freshers' Play - a play directed, produced, teched, designed and acted entirely by Emmanuel freshers. It's the perfect way to get involved with Cambridge drama and to meet loads of new people. The REDS Freshers' Show for 2008 is a one-act version of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing".
